The Mad River Valley in Winter and Fall

Visit The Mad Rver Valley during any season and discover its hidden treasures. You'll be struck by its classic New England landscape and architecture - a mountain ridgeline with snow-capped summits and some of the USA's best skiing and snow boarding in winter and great hiking trails in the summer.

The sparkling and clear, winding river for swimming, fishing and canoeing. Hillside farms, a round barn, covered bridges and steepled villages with wonderful and interesting, individual craft and antique shops. The emerald greens and fairways of the Robert Trent Jones Senior golf course. In the Fall, undoubtedly some of the best of New England's foliage can be seen in the Valley either by car along Vermont's scenic Route 100 or on horseback across the mountain slopes.

The villages of Warren and Waitsfield, set along the river, received their charters more than 200 years ago in the mid-18th century. The Valley is not a manufactured tourist attraction; it is a real community--a good, decent place to live, making it a wonderful place for a visit or even a wedding location, with it's many stylish, homely and cozy country B&B's.
