10/1 - Bean Pond and Crystal Lake (updated with pix!)
On the road. First part of trip sucked with dreary light and thought about turning around. Then the sky opened a bit and I found Bean Pond. Awesome color. Crystal Lake is great too.
Update: Back home and have photos to share

Re: 10/1 - Bean Pond and Crystal Lake looking great
When I woke up this morning I looked out the window and saw the overcast sky and the flat light. I thought of you driving all the way up here for an early start, only to find poor lighting. I'm glad you stuck with it

Can a mod see if they can fix the linked image? Should be a nice pano. Can't do much more from road.

The SOV forum doesn't handle wide pictures very well. For those that want to see the whole picture, right click on it and "open in new Tab".
That said... very nice shot.

Just returned from there this afternoon as well. The leaves are dropping fast. Started the day at Cabot, Coles Pond and Stannard Mountain Rd, then Wheeler Pond, Crystal Lake, Barton, Burton Hill and finally Eden and Johnson. My first season, but it seems there will only be nice pockets of color in these areas after tomorrow. We may try Peacham area tomorrow.
