Burke Mtn Road -- highly recommended (one pic)

I just wanted to highly recommend this road, which I drove on Thursday morning. It's a toll road but unlike most of them, it is cheap -- only 3 bucks, 2 for seniors. (I think the Mt. Mansfield road is like $17! ) It offers superb views of much of the NEK, has a picnic area and lots of parking, and the road appears to have JUST been paved and it is in excellent shape. There's also a fire tower at the top for even better views!

Here's one pic I took there on Thursday morning (don't have much time before I go back north tomorrow so only one pic for now.) The skies were kind of blah that day, unfortunately. --c

Nice pic Charles--

Looks like a lot of green still to change going down the hillside...is that all evergreen, or is there still some hope for those of us coming next weekend to venture to the lower parts of NEK?

No, there is still LOTS of foliage to go in the lower elevs. This was actually a source of frustration for me, because as you can see I like foreground foliage in my shots. There just was very little of it, even way up to the Cdn border, at the lower elevs. I think you will be fine. --c
