I kind of started a "tradition" here of posting images from my trips that are not in Vermont. I guess its my way to make myself feel better that I am not there with my SOV friends. Miss you guys. Wish I was there and Al was too! Here are some images from the first couple days of my trip to California:
Golden Gate Bridge:
San Francisco Bay Bridge:
San Francisco Skyline:

Great pics Andy, I grew up in SF and now live in the Sierra Nevada's. Your first pic from the Marin Headlands is my favorite location to visit when I take friends because they can't believe the view. Sometimes, you only see the tops of the buildings through the fog which can make a beautiful pic. Hope the rain doesn't spoil your trip.

Thanks Carol. As much as I would like to be in Vermont this week, this is the next best thing, I guess. Really good stuff to photograph here!
2doggie: Thanks. Fortunately, we wiil be here through Saturday, and things are supposed to clear on Thursday here just like in Vermont.

That is my second favorite place in the world to photograph is San Francisco. And man, did you hit the weather lottery! I only had one day of good weather last time (out of a whole week I was there) but that was the day of my excursion to Yosemite, so I cannot complain too much. Such a wonderful city with so much to seen both within and without.
Amazed by how clear the air is in your shots.
Great photos and you are making me desperate for some Boudin's sourdough and some cioppino. Thank you very much for sharing them.

Thanks, Dean. I have a feeling I have just scratched the surface here. Only the iconic shots so far. It is a pretty cool place.

Yeah, I could photo graph the San Francisco/Yosemite/Napa triangle for the rest of my life and never do all I would like to.
I need to pick a coast and be near at least one of my photographic loves.

Funny. I am looking at this on my iPad this a.m. The of my laptop LCD sceen really showing up on post processing. Some color casts, exposure and saturation issues. Will be nice to get to some of these on a good monitor (those rocks in front of the bridge are not green - the bark is red on the Muir Woods photo -but not that fake red).

Great shots, Andy! I was out there for 2 weeks over the summer, and didn't feel like I had scratched the surface. Looking forward to seeing more of your photos!

Very nice Andy! I especially love the evening Bridge shot. I'd make a nice 20x30 (or bigger) of that one and hang it where everyone can see it!

Hey Andy, just came across these. Great shots, all your research for the trip paid off. The dusk shot of the GG bridge deserves to be printed big.

I hope you'll post more from your trip.

Fax: Great to hear from you. Thanks. Had a good outing in CA. Looking for your shots from Vermont! Hope all is going well with you. I did the research, but didn't have half the time I needed to go everywhere and see everything! Good news is, I'll probably go back.
We did a Napa Valley tour to some very small, private vineyards. Have a standing invitation to come back and photograph one of them in the "good light." Looks like November is the time the vines all turn color. Will have to plan a trip back for that.
