Wind and Rain

Vermont's "Eye on the Sky" is saying that there is a wind warning out for tonight. The broadcast, heard this morning on VPR, says winds could top 45 mph on the western side of the Green Mountains. That means Manchester, Rutland, Middlebury, Burlington etc. An inch of rain is also forecast. The rest of Vermont will experience gusty wind and rain. It may remain wind through the weekend with another front moving in on Sunday, bringing more rain. If the forecast is correct, a lot of leaves are going to be blown away by the weekend, especially on the western side of Vermont.

I think the foliage is early enough to handle the wind. I've been a little worried about the foliage this week. It seemed dull. I've benn watching a couple of hills in Fairfax while going and the colors are brightening real nice.

Hey PWT: I have seen a photo of Fairfax in one of the photo books about Vermont. Is there a shot of the village from a high vantage point? Do you know what direction that shot is from and whether its a morning sun or afternoon sun shot?

If it sounds too good to be true, its probably . . . .

I couldn't agree more, autumleaf! I hope the leaves can withstand the wind and rain.

Andy, the only chance for that kind of shot is on the McNall Road if the bushes aren't to high. This road is off route 128 just south of the Jct of route 104.

Thanks PWT. Found the McNall Road on the map. I'll check it out.
