Fall colors

Just returned from 6 days in Vermont. Stayed in the southern area and traveled as far as Stowe in the northern area.

The higher elevations and the northern areas have really nice colors but the reds are sparingly seen- alot of yellows, oranges and still alot of green. Many trees are bare which I was told by a local person that its due to a catapillar infestation they had that made the leaves drop off prematurely and killed alot of the ferns usually seen in forest. Still plenty to see in terms of colors that will last a couple of more weeks. If the higher elevations are past peak then go to the valley and vice versa.

We had a day of steady rain and colder night time temperatures which the cold helps the leaves pop in color. Alot of fog which if you are taking photos adds a really nice dimension. Weather channel up there was predicting rain everyday for the next 7 days as of yesterday. But one day it was suppose to rain all day it never did so take that info for what its worth.

Good luck.
