I have reservations to stay at Manchester from 10/15-10/17. If it rains as much as the weather.com predicts, will there be any foliage left in Southern Vermont? What areas/activities do you suggest for these dates in this case?

Thanks

The foliage should be early enough to handle the rain.

If it rains go to all the outlets and shop. Plenty to do there and its a beautiful town- rain or shine.

Rain doesn't seem to affect the foliage nearly as much as wind. I was in Manchester about 5 days ago and the color was still VERY early. --c

Foliage was still fine this morning in Manchester.
Quite a bit of green for the date.

The new American Museum of Fly Fishing is worth a visit. Drive up the Equinox Skyline road if the sun comes out. The Indian Hill photo gallery near Pawlet (River Rd., left off Rt. 30) is a good rainy day destination.

If you are looking for color, I think you'd be better off going up route 11/30 into the route 100 area and poking around up in there. I drove by Manchester today and there was not much.

I feel your pain, believe me... :)

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.

I read about Green mountain railroad from Bellows Falls to Chester depot. Do you think its worth a visit or should we invest the time driving to the White mountains? Wouldn't the White mountains be past peak for this weekend?

Thanks again!

Normally I'd say yes, but I've heard the colors are hanging around. But there might be heavy rian over there tonight. The Green Mountain Railroad is a good ride.
