Kevin, try to get out of Enfield then, it's too urban and trees are affected differently in these settings. I would head south on 7 and get into the dirt back roads because the trees that were green are now ready to change and the color is coming. Head into the back roads of Roxbury, Southbury and Washington, and into northern New Milford near Lake Waramaug. The cold weather came this time last year and we had a great season. I just looked back at my dates for the tour with Calguy to confirm.

I was out yesterday and went to Granby, Hartland, Route 20 through Barkhamstead Reservoir, Winstead, Route 44 and Route 218 and 272. The higher elevations are well past peak and going bare. Very limited foliage color left. Here in town, areas that had foliage color are muted due to the warm weather. I'm going to stay around here and see how the limited green trees turn in the next 10 days. I'm glad I was in Vermont the last 2 weeks, really nice foliage color.

Kevin, we took a drive to Storrs UCONN campus for lunch yesterday and the color was really coming on strong especially in Tolland and Rockville. Heading west it got even better. So I am optimistic we are heading into a great but delayed season (maybe 10 days later than normal) here in CT. Get back out and head lower and west in CRV area and down to Kent and south. I think you will be richly rewarded! :D

Peak foliage color here in Enfield and it's about 10 days behind last year. Awful Weather today, really damp and foggy. Heavy rain and flooding is expected tomorrow. I'm not sure what foliage will survive the storm tomorrow. Nowhere near as good as last year, too warm this Fall. One good thing about the lateness of Peak foliage is the Oaks aren't far behind. Some are already turning and the weather is finally seasonable.

I haven't been out to look at foliage since last Friday. Big change in the Oaks and they are at peak. In town it's about 20-30 % bare.

Somers, Connecticut with a bit of Oak color.:
