Sad but true. :( :( :(

Greetings maple syrup lovers everywhere. For obvious reasons, the 2021 Vermont Maple Open House Weekend has been cancelled to prevent the spread of COVID. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE support your local sugar makers by either calling ahead to see if they are accepting visitors to their operations if you are in Vermont, or in the alternative, check their websites to order online which I fully intend to do. I'm optimistic that 2022 will be open for visitors. :D

Here are some links to sugar makers in Vermont which are also in the above link.

Last year NY, NH and MA eventually cancelled their open houses but remained open by either appointment or with limited capacity. I'll follow up with these at a later date!

Stay safe and healthy! CT🧇🧇🧇🥞🥞🥞

NEW HAMPSHIRE MAPLE MONTH 2021

"Maple Sugaring Month runs March 1 through March 31, spanning four weekends.

You can support your local sugarhouses during the pandemic to help keep the sugaring tradition alive. Go to the Find a Sugarhouse link to find one near you. Each sugarhouse will have their own COVID protocols for visiting and/or buying during the pandemic so check out their listings or call for details about online ordering, Maple to Go, appointments to visit etc. Remember the State of NH has a mask mandate from Governor Sununu in effect through March 26th."

Massachusetts is NOT canceling their open house weekend! Please call ahead to confirm that a sugarhouse is open and receiving visitors as well as checking their COVID restrictions! I have been to many in south central Mass and they have been excellent! There are several around the Springfield area and just west and north of there that did not disappoint! :D We probably visted 8-10 sugarhouses two years ago and some in the more rural areas felt like we were in Vermont!

Mass Maple updates:

Sugaring season is coming up fast! Stop by a sugarhouse to bring home some delicious maple products.

Trees don’t get COVID and they’ll be making sap, so sugarmakers will be making maple syrup! Many sugarhouses will be open for Maple Weekend March 20-21, and sugarhouse restaurants will still be serving pancakes throughout the season. Masks and social distancing will be required at all sites, and we recommend calling ahead before visiting.

Connecticut Maple Sugar Open House Weekend is on! Doing my happy dance! If you can't make it up north, Connecticut has many great sugaring operations and I can certainly recommend a few that I have been to.

As always, please call ahead for confirmation and COVID restrictions. Wear a mask!
