Where Are The 30's Temperatures??

Sept Outlook shows no low temps in the 30's for September for Montpelier or even Killington--This is unusual--2012, considered a great Fall(best colors ever in Killington), had 10 mornings in the 30's--2014, another great fall, had 8 mornings in the 30's---However, 2010 was a good Fall, and had just 3 mornings in the 30's--Of course, having low temps in the 30's doesn't really guarantee anything, as 2007's weak Fall showed, so perhaps average lows are more important, and Killington's average lows this year are certainly lower than last year-- but with no low temp 30's forecast, Perhaps this means another slightly later Fall this season

global warming is still with us, the cool temps in early September were just a tease.

The Boston channel 4 TV weatherman, Eric Fisher, who also does weather for some CBS national stuff, did a New England foliage forecast last night on the news.

It called for a warming trend in late September, and Eric said his guess is that foliage will be slightly late this year. He was calling for peak in the White Mountains around Columbus Day.

so those dreams of late September foliage this year in northern Vt are probably just that, dreams.....

Actually, Northern Maine dropped below freezing already. I know from some weather chat friend's that it did in Northern New Hampshire as well.

Near record cold in Maine on 9/13/19:

Hey Loafer! Thanks for the pic! Stowe had their first frost two nights ago (13th). Lookin' great! :D

I'm staying up there for about 8 days so hoping to hit the color on target.

How are things in your area? We are moving along nicely in north central CT! We are touring the NW corner today to see how the color is transitioning as it mimics SW VT. Hiking the Pine Knob Loop in Sharon so we should see nice change as it was quite chilly last night and we will be at summit.

We've had at least one fairly widespread frost here in the NEK last week and are expecting another one tonight.
Color change is on schedule, if not a bit ahead. The change over the last few days has been really noticeable.

Temperatures are currently in the Upper 30's around Killington with frost advisories and freeze warnings for much of New England. The NWS mentions the possibility of frost here in N. Connecticut tonight. Hopefully not as it's about 3 weeks too early.

I find weatherunderground to be a good place to visit online for current regional weather conditions. Lots of local weather stations on that website.

Thanks Loafer! With these temps, the colors will really kick start and continue to unfold. I just looked at the lows around the NEK and they are in the 30s. There are another 7 days of bright sunshine ahead! Let the show begin! :D

It's 35.2 F here in Enfield but no frost thankfully. Still have another month hopefully with the garden. It's below freezing around the quabbin area, but not in Connecticut. This early season cold should bring out the foliage color.

Hard to believe it's going to be in the 80's this weekend. Hopefully the last of the year.

Had a brisk 29 degrees here in Lyndonville this morning. I love foggy, frosty, fall mornings. :D
