I have booked a trip to Woodstock Vermont Oct. 1-4. Is this going to be a good time to see a lot of color? Do you know if there are daily bike rentals available in this area? I would like route suggestions to see the best color. Thanks for any help you can give.

Biscuit Hill Bike & outdoor shop in Woodstock has bike rentals.Rt. 100 from 4 has always been one of my favorote drives, also you must see the Quechee gorge, it is an amazing sight.

You might want to try route 106 south from Woodstock to route 131 east. Take route 131 east to route US 5 north. Take route US 5 north to route 12 north back to route US 4 west to Woodstock. Also if you do the route US 4 and route 100 north, pick up route 107 east to route 12 south in Bethel and take route 12 south to Woodstock. A good paved secondary road would be the River Road / Quechee Main Street road. You can pick it up on route 12 north in Woodstock next to the Billings Farm Museum and take that all the way to Quechee.
