Well, we knew it was coming. The peak leaves were hanging by a thread. The moderate winds and rain were all it took to knock them down.
The local weatherman reported heavy rain and winds for later this afternoon. It's really looking like southern VT in the lower elevations will be the place for good color. The Woodstock area and the Rutland area should still have good color. On the up side, weather will be bright and sunny after today.
I won't be able to scout out southern VT for you this year. I'm hip deep in leaves and it's about time to get ready to "snowbird it" down to Florida for the winter. Plus, this year I have a project to do for the Historical Society.
See you next year.
Stick season in northern VT
