This is quite an article! Maple Sugaring Weekend is still happening this Saturday and Sunday, but.....looks like an increase in our syrup this year.

What a year for Vermont! First Irene, then a lackluster snow/ski season, and now this: a short sugaring season. As in the past, Vermonters will triumph through these scenarios with their spirit and resilience! Yet, all the more reason for us to go up to Vermont this spring, summer and fall and help with the tourism dollars!

We had the same issue here in NY. But interesting, we went to a maple sugaring event locally and were told that while the season was shorter here, that it was just as fruitful as ever because they got more sap than usual, just in a shorter time period.??? Maybe we'll be buying our supply in NY again this year instead of VT. We'll see what the prices look like when our Farmer's Mkt opens in May. Bought a pint at the event to tide us over because we were almost out of the gallon we bought last summer!
