Forecast for Columbus Day weekend
Every computer model I can find shows the same forecast for the Saturday-Monday holiday weekend...spectacular weather. Brilliant sunshine, no rain, temps from the low 40's to mid 60's.
Would love to hear from our expert, WXMAN to see if he concurs with my uneducated efforts.

Who is an expert? me? LOL
Admited i have spent my day in VT dumping money into the economy there and away from computer guidance. But YUP looks spectacular. And the leaves really do need a shot of fall this weekend, the color is definitely there but not popped. Plenty of leaves still green even around Lake Willoughby. So here is how it all breaks down. Mostly cloudy with showers Thur-Sat.
Sun-Tue Partly sunny cool days cold nights. pm Sprinkles possible. Flurries maybe on MT Mansfield? NExt Wed-Columbus day. Sunny mild days cool nights. There is likely to be a couple of weak fronts passing through, one around Thursday and one Monday but here is what you really need to know in the next 10 days
NO HEAVY RAINS
NO STRONG WINDS
This is great news!

Re: Forecast for Columbus Day weekend
I'll be in Southern VT three days after Columbus Day so I am trying to stay optimistic that I won't be greeted by sticks when I get there. From what you are saying, there is an outside chance that I will get my wish.

What's not to love about that forecast? Bring on the color!

If it sounds too good to be true, its probably . . . .

Deaner 1971 you will be fine in southern Vermont the week after columbus day, there will be plenty of leaves on the trees. Looks like there may be a warm front coming through Next Thursday and possibly a cold front on Columbus day but both should be minor events, in fact a little cloud cover will help the photographers. Columbus day weekend definitely looks like indian summer.
Re: Forecast for Columbus Day weekend
Even better, hurricane Ctyanky will be passing north of there next week.

Re: Forecast for Columbus Day weekend
We have 30 mph winds here (Columbus, Ohio) right now so I hope these stay away from the beautiful NE.
