Thanks for this posting, m: I am amazed in some cases how such an apparently small stream could carry so much silt. The Bristol Falls shot came close to home for me, as buddy, Rich and I spent several hours there climbing around and photographing last October!

Also amazing that in some cases, the damage seemed to occur away from the river and areas close to the river were o.k. Cannot see the "relief" from aerial photos very well, but it is clear the water "diverted" when the normal banks couldn't carry it and sought the path of least resistance (low spots).

MOST AMAZING - THOSE VERMONT ROAD CREWS!!!!! They are superheros!
