In an effort to provide words of inspiration for people following Vermont's devastating floodings from the recent tropical storm created by Hurricane Irene's passing up the East coast of the United States, The Calvin Coolidge Memorial Foundation's website has posted
President Coolidge's famous speech, "Vermont is a State I Love" This speech was delivered in Bennington, Vermont after the 1927 flood.

Apsen, Thanks for posting the link to that speech. I remember reading it when visiting the Coolidge homestead in Plymouth, and was moved by it both times. I trace my ancestors to Vermont and would like to think there is a little of a Vermonter in me, and hopefully in everyone!
