Carol just dictated this short report for me to share with you all!
"From the south shore of MA, driving up through NH the colors were not popping in Franconia Notch as I thought they may have been. There was color, but still early.
HOWEVER, as we headed up route 91 in Vermont the early stages of color were more noticeable. Looks to me like it will shape up to be a wonderful foliage season!"
P.S Carol found a new view with a short hike in the Barton area and will report back when she gets home. Photos to follow tomorrow night! Stay tuned!!!!

Thanks ct and Carol. I'm thinking of making a weekend trip up the the NEK next weekend (before the REAL trip
). I'm guessing there should be plenty of color by then? Although if anything, sounds like this year is running a bit late?

Carol: I still can't get over your shots of Wheeler Pond. I went into your link for the photos from the weekend and you have beautiful work in there! You have a knack for taking photos of animals! Wow!
I am so looking forward to traveling with you, such a great photographer! This should be interesting!

Thanks for the report Carol. I'm surprised to see so much green that far north, but I have no point of reference to compare it to. Hard to imagine that those trees could be ablaze in the next week or two. Amazing how quickly it can change.

Thanks so much for sharing, updates in pictures are invaluable and helps to relieve my anxiety over the progression of the color. We took a drive here yesterday and the color is about a week to two weeks early, made me a little nervous, cause we are usually pretty close to the same.

Utah, I called a couple of places today in Pittsburg, NH, adjacent to the NEK--They said the red trees are starting to appear way up there--very encouraging

Carol: I'm really excited to go to Pittsburg and Dixville Notch, NH with you and your husband and Phil. I've never been to these two places. I think the color will be very good when we go! I'll look through your photos on your website!
