Miss Lyndonville Diner (Lyndonville)-- greasy and good like a Diner should be. Love this place.
Polly's Pancake Parlor (Sugar Hill, NH)
The Bean Mexican Eatery (Manchester)
Farmer's Diner (Quechee) -- I'm not an "everything must be organic" kind of guy but they do it very well with local food. Delicious.

Miss Lyndonville Diner - can get crowded on weekends, fast diner service, big portions, and of course real maple syrup for the breakfast eating crowd
Timbuktu - (just up the road from the diner), newest place in town. hard to describe the menu but there are a lot of unique dishes served here using a lot of local ingredients.
Pub Outback - East Burke. Pub food, and very good beer selection, in an old dairy barn (behind the former Baileys and Burke store)
Junipers - At the Wildflower Inn (Darling Hill Rd) in Lyndonville. Great sunset views for supper.

Barn Door Restaurant at the 1824 House, Waitsfield
http://www.thebarndoorvt.com/
(Beautiful website, that's why I'm including it). Carol and I are going to check it out very soon! Recently opened! Will report back.

The Common Man Restaurant, German Flats Road, Sugarbush, Warren
I think this place has the most ambience of all the places I have dined at so far. Excellent service, great food.

I’m seeing lots of my favorites on here already: Farmer’s Diner, Good Times Café, Sugar and Spice, and Singletons. And some I’ve been meaning to try…especially Common Man. We also love:
The Green Cup in Waitsfield
The Farmer’s Market in Waitsfield (there’s always something yummy to eat there)
Flatbread Pizza in Waitsfield (are you noticing a trend here?)
Chicken Pie Supper from the Waterbury Congregational Church
Bove’s in Burlington
Ariel’s in Brookfield
Vermont Apple Pie Company in Proctorsville (maple pecan pie – yum!)

We always go to City Slickers in Chester for breakfast before hitting Killington, but after I ran the 100on100 Relay about a month ago, I learned that it changed names. I forget the new name, but the breakfast food is still just as great :)

Is Juniper's an okay place to take a (usually) well behaved toddler? I see they have a kids menu, but it also kind of looks like a romantic place from the website.

A well-behaved toddler? You must be doing everything right!

Of course it is fine. The few times I dined there I saw a bunch of children with their families. I think you should go! You will love the inn and the meal is right up there at the top in my opinion! I think there is a small barn with animals next to it that your child will love. Actually, we all loved it too! Don't miss this place!

Probably the best restuarant nobady has heard of is the Hidden Country Restaurant off route 100 north of Lowell, VT. It's one of those "word of mouth" Places. Google it and check it out.

Has anyone eaten at the Little Rooster Cafe in Manchester Vt? Rachel Ray was there a few years ago.
