Scenes of Vermont Forums

Hi All,

Well, one week from today I board the plane for Boston, then head for Vermont! It makes a week seem awfully long.

Believe it or not, we do have Autumn in the mountains of San Diego. A few minutes ago I was on my Flickr site setting up a set to use for the photos I take in New England when I realized I should add a few photos from the San Diego mountains. For those of you interested in what Fall looks like about as far from New England as you can get and still be in the USA, here's a link to my Flickr photostream. That photo with the water wheel is nice. Was that a red oak? They do have nice red leaves early in their foliage cycle.

I think it is a red oak, though I can't say for certain.

That's alright. I have that problem some times. That's why I retired; Don't Know, Don't Care is my new motto. You wouldn't believe how much that motto helps me when I watch the ^$@ Red Sox play.

Oh, yes, we have many oak trees in California. Large parts of the state are best described as "Oak and grass." Coastal Live Oak, California Live Oak and Black Oak are the most common.

We have us another candidate for retirement, folks.
