Hmmmmm. The foliage meter on that site seems to show that Oct. 10 is when most of the state is in it's peak, but most of the advice here suggests an earlier peak. Does this mean an early peak is shaping up? Thanks.

The foliage meter is only a rough indicator...peak is where you find it and could be several days ahead or behind the meter.

Thanks Tim for the latest report--So far so good--Looks to be a great Fall Season gearing up for Vermont! Next 3 nights temperatures supposed to drop into the Thirties in Stowe, Killington, and St. Johnsbury--Yes!

The report is pretty accurate according to what I'm seeing here around Lyndonville and St Johnsbury. Luckily, it is early in the season and most leaves are still well attached to the trees. Therefore, they won't get blown off by the strong winds that are forecast for the next 24 hours. Nothing is worse than a strong windy front passing through just as we hit peak. Last year, the relatively quite winds provided a long peak.
The color change so far has been subtle but progression has very even at lower elevations. The frost forecast for Saturday night should really kick the colors up a few notches at all elevations!
