Oct 2nd Itinerary

I reached VT today- White River Junction and would be there till the 5th. Thinking a couple of trips for tomorrow-
a. NEK- Island pond, Lyndon, Burke (rt5/rt114 etc.
b. Smuggler's Notch, Stowe and nearby
c. Rt 100 and the notches- (I think I can do these last as they are just peaking)
d. Kancamagus Highway- Lincoln to Conway

Which do you think would be the best bet? Looks like it may rain this Saturday, so may lose one day.

I'd do the Kancamagus Highway as soon as possible.
Colors in Stowe are hanging on very well and are just peaking in Waitsfield.
The notches have some bare spots, but still have a lot of color.
Pray for light winds and rain. The leaves are barely hanging on north of US 2.

If you are not finding good color in the Highlands, try the Connecticut River Valley between St Johnsbury and White River Junction. The lower elevations there tend to hold color later.

Thank you all! pwt- I did take your suggestion. It was good that I tried the Kanc- it is not going to last very long. The last leg- towards Conway is great. Will be trying the notches today.
