Re: jpeg sizes
Hi Abby: What kind of computer software do you use to download the photos on to your computer? Do you do any processing of them afterward? Part of the issue with size may be the resolution. On a computer monitor 72ppi (pixels per inch) is about the max that you can "see" (you can still see them at h...

Re: Stowe Report 9/30-10/1
Thanks, PWT. I was thinking about taking the Mack's Mountain Road off of Church Street in Peacham as you had suggested. If I do, I'll swing back to 2 that way.

Re: What Happened to those "Vermont" Scenic Photos
PWT, when I last lived in Vermont (1979)rolled haybales were just catching on in some of the places ftat enough to use them. To my surprise and dismay, on my return to the state, rectangular and round bales have now been replaced by ugly white plastic worms. Everywhere! Very un-photogenic. I know, h...

Re: Excellent Idea
Thanks for doing this, Tim. I, too, hope it catches on. I have been waiting for Nikon to produce its MC-35 adaptor for my handheld GPS unit for almost a year now. I agree with GIC that GPS information would be really cool and helpful. I have considered trying to record it by hand as I photograph and...

What Happened to those "Vermont" Scenic Photos
Browsing the net, I found a study being done at the University of Vermont which I found fascinating. Last year, in the midst of doing serious research for a buddy and me for our first dedicated Vermont foliage Trip, I came across the Kaplan book, and saw some of these "classic Vermont Scenics" in bo...

Re: Route 12, the Worcester Woods Road
Autumn: It IS within driving distance. I am sure PWT can give you a better route, but from Stowe, I would take 100 back down through Waterbury to I-89 and take I-89 to Montpelier/Barre area (I did this last year). You want to get on US 302 East and take it to Vermont state highway 25. Go South on 25...

Re: Best Driving Route to North Hero, VT
Once you get south of Vermont, I don't know much about the north/south roads. But it looks like either way could yield some nice foliage views, depending on the time you have. Looking on the map, it appears to me that up I-87 would be faster. You could cross over into Vermont at the southern part of...

Re: Is there any way to get Arnold John Kaplan' s book in a
I haven't been there. Time permitting, I may try to drive it this year. From what I read in Middleton's book he says there are lots of "postcard" shots. Not sure what he means by that. Farms, old barns, farm fields with mountain backgrounds? Kaplan's book refers to "Ridge Road" north out of Woodstoc...

Re: Is there any way to get Arnold John Kaplan' s book in a
I have never seen the book anywhere but on his website. Last year, I e-mailed him and he responded directly. I think I got it in regular mail pretty quickly. Don't know if there is a PayPal setup, or if he would be willing to send overnight if you paid extra. One thought. This website has a descript...

Nice interview. Nice to put a name with a face and voice. No surprise that PWT sounds like a Vermonter, through and through. Thanks for that, Tim, and thanks again, PWT for your hobby!
