Barkhamsted Reservoir - N. Connecticut 10-22-20
I did a quick drive to Barkhamsted Reservoir today, near peak foliage conditions with the Oaks, going bare with other deciduous specie's. I headed South on Route 179 torwards North Canton and the trees were quite bare. I turned around and went home.

South/Central Massachusetts - Quabbin Reservoir
My original intent was to go to the Oxbow and Sugarloaf Mountain along the Connecticut River. I visited the Oxbow with peak foliage along I-91 from Enfield to the Oxbow. I drove to Mount Sugarloaf with mostly bare trees along I-91 after Northampton, but it was closed. After that I decided to go to t...

Mohawk Mountain webcam link, still looks like nice foliage color there. Unfortunately the Ski Sundown webcam isn't working.

I'd say the foliage color in Northeastern Connecticut is the worst I've seen since moving to Connecticut in 2006. The severe drought seems to have stressed the tree's. Very little color and trees going bare early. By comparison, Northwestern Connecticut has beautiful color. Here in Enfield, we are k...

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2020
On October 10th, I drove on Route 190 to Route 32, I-84, to Route 197 and Bigelow Hollow, Route 169 to Woodstock, Route 44 back to Route 31. Not good foliage anywhere and about 60% bare around Woodstock. Even today, heading towards Stafford Springs, the foliage started going bare. Frankly I wouldn't...

I miss Belgigue, they had really good cakes and pastries. Expensive, but good.

Some really nice foliage color in Enfield, but it's in commercial areas and pictures are hard to take.

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2020
Peak foliage conditions here in Enfield and about 10% bare after yesterday's rain. Some areas of really beautiful color and some drab areas as well. Definitely better foliage conditions here than in most of Northeastern Connecticut. I'd say close to the same quality foliage as in Northwestern Connec...

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2020
Lots of rain here today and 4.5" of rain this week. I don't know how the foliage is making it through this event. I'm going to drive around town tomorrow. Not alot of wind.
South Pond didn't look like a private area, the road past the pond leads to a cemetery.

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2020
I did the drive to Meshomastic Forest today and the foliage color in the forest was drab and past peak. There was some nice color along I-91 from Enfield down to Hartford and along Route 2 to Glastonbury. I drove home through Glastonbury, Andover, Coventry, Vernon, Ellington and back to Enfield. Ove...

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2020
The water picture is South Pond along Riga Road. I've driven that route many times before, but mostly in the Summer. I did the hike up Bear Mountain and Mt Frisell, but many years ago. I have a Volvo XC70, so it's a rough ride, but nothing too unpleasant. The rain yesterday, meant no dust. I like lo...
