Re: Updated 2015 Photo Gallery

Your photos have actually inspired me. I've been really bummed about not having a chance to get out and do any real shooting yet. The color was late, my trip north got cancelled, I got busy with other things, I didn't know where the color would be, I don't have the flexibility I used to have. You we...

Re: Updated 2015 Photo Gallery

Superb. Not just the color, but the compositions -- you have real talent as a photographer, though I think I say that to you every year. :)

Re: October 24th or bust!

Thanks for the photos.

There is a fair bit of color change around Bennington now. I think absent any mega-windy-storm, we are in good shape for SOMEWHERE around here to be peak next weekend.

Southern Route 7: Jekyll and Hyde

Going north, on the right, the western slopes of the Green Mountains are gorgeous. Peak in many places, not quite in others, past in a few. Not a lot of great composition opportunities for me as a photographer, but nice for leaf-peepers. And on the left, the eastern slopes of the Taconics are... gre...

October 24th or bust! (never mind, trip canceled)

So, this foliage season has been a really confusing bit of an ordeal for me personally. With the lack of cold weather everything was late, I didn't end up going up north like I wanted, I figured the color wouldn't get good up north but it did and I missed it, and now I'm sitting here hoping all the ...

Thanks for the report! My guess is you guys will peak a few days after the cold spell this weekend. I am hoping we will down here too.

Thank you so much for posting this. I am sorry I wasn't able to make it up there either and I didn't really know GIC well but feel like I know him better now.

Re: Valley of Vermont (Bennington to Manchester) Report: "It Ain't Easy Being Green"

We'll work it out. It's still very green here and with warm weather the next few days I don't think this coming weekend will do it. If we are lucky, maybe the next one. I'm trying not to get my hopes up as often the stars don't "align" in this area. The color in the upper elevations was really disap...

Re: Valley of Vermont (Bennington to Manchester) Report: "It Ain't Easy Being Green"

Keep me posted. I may be being a bit picky on the color but I just haven't been finding things that make me want to take out my camera yet.

This coming weekend looks cold... but may also be stormy. We'll hope for the best. I hope I will get to see you. :)

Re: SW corner higher elevation report - eh

Somerset/Kelly is where I went this morning. It's not a good year, and it will be well past peak before you can get up here. The only hope for good color left for this area is for the valleys if it ever gets cold... meanwhile.. 74 on Monday? Unreal. I still have tomatoes growing, we literally have n...

Re: Valley of Vermont (Bennington to Manchester) Report: "It Ain't Easy Being Green"

Hey CT, Appreciate the offer and I do want to get down there sometime but I can't this week because of work. I really hate having a "real job" sometimes. :( But maybe next weekend if it is looking good still. I actually expect peak in Bennington to be in 2 weeks, if it happens at all. I got one nice...

Valley of Vermont (Bennington to Manchester) Report: "It Ain't Easy Being Green"

Took a drive up route 7A and down route 7 this afternoon. There is some nice color, especially in places, but the predominant shade is green. I was shocked. It's October 10 and I have never seen so many gree trees, even at elevation. Even Mount Equinox is mostly green! It's truly bizarre. The models...

SW corner higher elevation report - eh

(Disclaimer: I have very high standards for what I consider good foliage. It is still very pretty out there. I just prefer to be really honest about what I see.) There are a few pockets of good color but it's mostly average or below and just.. weird in a lot of places. Color change in valleys with g...

That's definitely the nicest color I've seen posted here this year. Very nice, in fact.

Re: 2015 Vermont Foliage Trip

Wow. These are not merely "lemonade" but legitimately excellent shots in their own right. Especially like the ones of Crystal Lake, and you had more color at Owl's Head than I realized was out there.

Nicely done!
