Re: Much above normal temps next days or so

Looking at the long range, I'm seeing the first signs of a slight break in this warm pattern, starting around the middle of the month. Still no really cold weather in sight at least within two weeks though. Take heart that things can change rapidly, we've had seasons where we get 2 cold days and boo...

Re: Much above normal temps next days or so

The long range shows above average temps every day for the entire month. Obviously not good news... but forecasts beyond 10 days are rarely accurate.

Also, I just saw a woolly bear caterpillar that was all brown. EVERYBODY PANIC!!! (I actually have no idea what that is even supposed to mean...) :)

Re: The Great Fall Get Together

I think I'm confused. Isn't the get-together in the NEK on the 3rd? But the night photography get-together is in Killington the next day?

I just noticed this today myself. I was expecting it because they had their summer edition table of contents up for the summer. :)

Thanks all for your kind support. :)

Hey thanks a lot. :) If you want to know where any shot was taken, I have them GPS mapped.

Thanks, both of you. :)

I just noticed a strange horizontal line on the right side of the one with the barn. I have no idea how that got there in the small versions of this, thankfully it's not in print.

Re: Fall foliage in mid-september

Actually the higher elevations of the Adirondacks would be a good option too that I forgot.. especially if based in Burlington. The "high peaks" as they are known are among the first places in the continental US to change color.

Thanks. It was a really amazing night.. even though I managed to bust my car's mirror backing out of the place-I-shouldn't-have-parked! :)

I got a copy today in the mail and it's cool to see it in person.

Thank you for all the kind comments. I wish I had subscribed myself as I didn't realize it would be mailed so far in advance of hitting the newsstands!

bm, the GPS tag says it was taken on Whitehill Road, off Garland Hill. Not that this means anything to me really. :)

Re: Fall foliage in mid-september

You want to be in the upper elevations of Maine and NH that time of year. If too far, the high elevations in northern and NE VT.

You are all very kind, thanks. Especially you, CT, one of the most genuine and warm people I have ever met. I did mention this in my old thread on these photos as I didn't want to start a new thread. These are the two images they used. http://desktopscenes.com/Autumn_Scenes_from_the_Northeast_Kingdo...

Re: R U Ready for Autumn in VT? 2 months from today - first day of fall!

Depends on the year, but in general, that timing is too late for the Northeast Kingdom and most of the higher elevations. Would be best to stick to southern areas, areas around Lake Champlain (but not right in the valley), SE and SW Vermont.

Re: Autumn Scenes from the Northeast Kingdom

Thanks so much for the kind words. :) I actually submitted 30 of these photos to Vermont Life in 2013 for their fall edition, at the recommendation of one of the editors. It took hours to choose them and then format them the way they wanted. They didn't use any. I was really disappointed, to say the...
