WOW! What great photos! I especially love the ones from Lost Nation Road. I will be staying in Littleton Friday as well and plan to explore the back roads of the NEK on Saturday. This will be on my "must do" list!

I too am experiencing the "November doldrums" here in New England. My photo group went out to Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA last weekend and I was able to get a few good shots there. Great views of Boston from the watchtower at the top of the hill. Christmas lists already? I'm ashamed to admi...

It's interesting reading other's replies to this post. I thought the colors were good in places this year, but not widespread as in some previous years. The first weekend in October, I was in the Dixville Notch area (NH) and the colors were gorgeous. Bright oranges and reds. Unfortunately, the weath...

Great photos! It was neat to see the snow in Stark! And I LOVE the photo of the inside of the Ashuelot covered bridge! I had to look on the map to see where that is; I've never spent a lot of time in the southwest part of NH. Looks like you covered a lot of ground on your trip!!

Carol: Spoke too soon; I found your Maine photos on your website... they're great! I have very similar pictures from Marshall Point a couple of years ago. It's always fun to see what other people capture in the same area! Love your photos of Acadia, especially the Tool Barn pictures - what great wor...

Carol: I'd love to do some shooting together next fall. I love all of your photos, especially your ponds and lakes! I seem to remember that you're on the South Shore, but I've found several photo groups on meetup.com in the Boston area. One of the groups has a meetup every couple of weeks and it's g...

Thanks for the suggestions, Andy. I'd love to see the southwest in the fall, especially the aspens in Colorado. Unfortunately, being a teacher, I'm restricted to school vacation weeks and weekends :( I have Martres' books on the southwest and have used them extensively in my travels in AZ, UT, and C...

I love the photo of Elliott Falls! It almost looks like some of the mineral deposits around the geysers out in Yellowstone the way the light is hitting the rocks! Great shots! When do you head to Acadia? I'll be anxious to see your photos from there.

Thanks for all the comments! Despite the overcast weather most of the foliage weekends, it was still a great season. Aspen: I was at Jenne Farm on Sun. 10/11 for sunrise. I try to go there every year, and it was the most crowded I have ever seen it that day. About 35 photographers spread out all ove...

RE: Peacham

What an incredible picture!! The day I was there was rainy and damp, with peeks of sun further away, but nothing compared to what you captured! Great job!

Great idea! I tend to post photos to my Facebook page more quickly than to my website, often while I am "on the road". It would be great to start an SOV group there to connect with people and share current conditions.

Wow! Great shots, MrBumps! I also love the stream photo, and especially the white fence! Was the white horse by any chance further up Caper Hill Road in Reading (past the sugar shack)? I have a photo of a white horse with the same coloring and same background, just wondering if it's the same one....

Fall photos 2009

I've added photos from my fall 2009 foliage trips to my website:

http://irwinli.home.comcast.net/~irwinl ... index.html

Most photos were taken in Vermont, though there are a few from (gasp!) New Hampshire as well. Enjoy!

Here's a picture of The Skinner Barn:

This one was closer to the "start" of Common Road - all of Vermont in one photo: stone wall, foliage, and cows!
