Wentworth: you are quite welcome! This will be one of your most memorable experiences! You know the song "I Left My Heart in San Francisco?" There should be one for "I Left My Heart in Peacham!" We stayed there in 2003 in an incredible B&B on Macks Mountain Road. One of the cemetaries overlooking th...

pwt: thanks. Amazing that they don't settle down with the snow geese. I find that quite intriguing. I'll be sure to follow your advice and look around for the Canadian geese in the sky. I would not have even noticed unless you mentioned it! My guests really want to go so guess that stays on the itin...

My unexpected Vermont moment is not a visual one as one might expect. One of my “moments” is about a family who operates a farm in Rochester, Vermont and who open their home to tourists. (I have mentioned Liberty Hill Farm in a previous post.) We were sitting around the dinner table one warm evening...

Hi pwt: Sometime during the beginning of October, I am wondering if you can update on the snow geese display (obviously only if you are in the area) at Dead Creek. We are scheduled to go there on Friday, October 10, first thing in the a.m. If you find that it is still early and that there may not be...

ok pwt: I infer from your post that we should find restaurants for supper in the Jeffersonville area and not Stowe, or be sure to get back to Jeffersonville by dusk. For you to mention the "L" word, I hereby feel compelled to take your very subtle hint!

Hi pwt: Yes, we did Lincoln Gap two seasons ago in her new car. Fortunately for me, I was able to catch all the views while she was gripping the steering wheel! (She really did keep her eyes peeled on the road as there was one point when there wasn't enough room for two cars and we had to pull over ...

Ah sigh, yes, a flatlander I am. Hopefully this flatlander will transplant to Vermont some day!   And I'll still be called one there too!!! Actually, one of my fears (albeit unfounded) is losing brakes on one of these roads. Lost my brakes one winter in a state owned vehicle going do...

October Farmer's Almanac Just in for Northeast!

Ok, I like to read it, even though Mother Nature can change it at her whim!   October 2008 "1st-3rd Fair and cold. 4th-7th Showery weather. 8th-11th Turning fair and colder. 12th-15th Cold wind and rain, followed by clearing and continued cold conditions. 16th-19th Pleasant weather. ...

bm : I had no idea there was a flood in these areas. We have route 125 down for our itinerary on the second trip after we tour Middlebury. If you don't mind, I'll rely on both of your expertise to let me know if our tour of Robert Frost's Cottage off of 125, the Breadloaf Campus and the Texas Falls...

Sounds like your daughter is taking after her mother! Not many kids her age would think that was fun - negotiating a "non" road! Glad your husband will be with you at the reunion! See you then!

Andy: I second your motion on pwt writing a foliage guide. The guy is amazing . I owe my success in my Vermont travels to his incredible, extensive directions and his massive knowledge about Vermont. What would we do without him? " Journey into Vermont's Backroads " by PWT. How does that sound? :lol...
