pwt- Thanks for all your pfine reporting. We love ya, pwt. What would we do without your blow by blow directions of scenic roads to enjoy on our pfoliage seeking meanderings in the great state of VT? We had a light frost down here in Fairfield County last night. Might have another tonight! Yippee :D...

Wentworth- Where do you stay in Killington? For years we have stayed at Mendon Mountainview Resort and then always have breakfast at Sugar & Spice. It changed owners last year! That place is a goldmine! I love their pumpkin pancakes. Unfortunately 2003 was the only year we missed in the past 12 year...

ctyanky- I love diners. My DH is a tractor-trailer driver so he loves diners also. I have read of the Blue Benn many times in Yankee Magazine but because it located in the southern part of VT we usually aren't in that area except on our way home. Maybe we could stop there on our way up on Oct 1. The...

Wentworth I must agree this fall HAS to be better than last year! That is why my DH and I are going a week earlier than we usually go. It seems we always just miss the brilliant colors. New Canaan is a lovely area to grow up in. I work in Fairfield almost Southport so I have a commute from Newtown. ...

Noticing Some Color Changes Here Too
Hi All- Isn't this exciting? :D Today was the first day I felt that clear autumn air and it was wonderful. I couldn't be happier unless it was snowing like a blizzard. Unfortunately in the last few decades here in Connecticut we don't get the snow like we used to. Too warm if you ask me. That...

Cooler Weather On It's Way! About Time!!!
I, for one, am so happy to hear that cooler weather is on it's way to turn our leaves brilliant red and glorious orange. How is the foliage looking up in God's Country? We would love to hear from the lucky locals you might report on what is happening up there. Do you think it will be an early or lat...

Hi Abby- Yes, you are so right! My DH and I will be making our annual autumn pilgrimage to VT arriving on Oct 3 and driiving home Oct 7. Yesterday my hubby and I were driving up to Brookfield, CT and even though it was warm the sky was crystal clear and we have noticed some leaves changing. Every ye...

Florida Trip
Hi pwt54- What are we going to do without your sage advice? You should appoint someone you trust to take on your position while you are visiting FL aka Hell on Earth! I know, I lived in Royal Palm Beach for 8 years. I am sure you will enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains which are breathtaking but yes, fa...

Some Early Color! Yeah!!
Hello pwt54- I was so glad to read what you wrote about spotting some early color. Now that we are nearing the season we live for, what can you tell us about the how this summer might effect our beloved leaves. What is your valued opinion on what we can expect? Also as you know I am coming up earlie...

Vermont Church Suppers
Hi ctyanky-
My DH and I have always been curious about these suppers. It is good to know that they are an alternative to a restaurant diner that usually disappoints! What time do you go up to Vermont? If you remember that town let me know.

It's Almost Here!!!
Hi All- Yes, I have seen some leaves that have turned red/orange in Newtown, CT. These are the trees that are my harbinger of autumn every year. Our nights have been getting cooler, thank God. Hope it is not just a tease-I can't wait for September to arrive. That is when I really get psyched out. I ...

Isn't It Grand?
I can't wait to see, smell, and feel the first changes in the air and on the trees. This is the best time of the year for me. Hopefully this will be a more vibrant autumn than last year. We are planning to come up early for us; Oct 3-Oct 7 since we always wish we were earlier. Also our home base wil...

Re: I Have Returned From Vermont
pwt54- If the good Lord is willing, I will be back in Vermont the first week of October. I like to go up there to experience the cooler weather also. I do like to rush autumn along and winter too. I dread summer and dreaming of going to God's country keeps me semi-sane during the dog days of August....

I Have Returned From Vermont
Hi pwt54, bm, and all who helped- DH and I came back 1 day earlier. No place like home! We drove to Stowe on 10/11; disappointed to say the least in our hotel and the foliage but we knew foliage was over before we left. Had one of the best dinners at the Partridge Inn. Left Stowe area Thurs AM. Drov...

Re: Next Year coming 5 days before Columbus Day
Hi sharan- Thanks for the heads up. Well, we depart tomorrow morning and I can't wait. The foliage in our area of CT is beautiful right now but then again it always is in October. Whenever we get back from VT my DH always says, "where did we see the best foliage" and of course my answer is "right he...
