My only experience is last year, which I've heard was a bit of an early year, but I was in the Stowe area 10/4 and 10/5 and the color was great. I would definitely go the first weekend. If by chance you're a bit early, it's easy to head north from Stowe where I think it should definitely be very col...

Actually the parking spot (I really shouldn't call it a lot) is near the top of the mountain. So you don't need to take a lift up as you're already there. The "lot" is a dirt pulloff, and it's unsigned. So it's a little tricky to spot.

Middlebury College Snow Bowl

Last year we were driving west on Rt 125 and I was hoping to find a lookout point. We came across a little dirt parking lot and decided to give it a try. Turns out it was the Middlebury College Snow Bowl and it was a great spot! It's about a 5 minute hike from the dirt lot to the slopes. There are s...

Andy, I'd be happy to post a detailed report. First off, I had a good time and would recommend Joe's workshops. Especially one in the DC/Md area since that's definitely his home territory. This was a two day workshop in the Delaware Water Gap recreational area. There were 4 other participants in the...

Night photography is hard but fun. If you have a DSLR, noise probably won't be too much of a problem. That's because noise is partly produced by heat, and I don't expect it to be too warm in Vermont on the evening of 10/4. :) The hardest thing I've found is to get good focus. Autofocus is unlikely t...

Just to post a little follow-up. David Middleton's and Joe Rossbach's workshops looked to be the most interesting ones available. I decided not to take either one though, because both are in Southern VT and I'll be in northern VT at the time. However, I did wind up taking a weekend workshop with Joe...

No editing at all? Even global adjustments like contrast, brightening/darkening, etc?

Thanks for the link Andy! I'm looking for a combination of instruction and finding the hot spots. I have a solid understanding of the basics, controlling depth of field and all that. But I'm kind of looking to take it to the next level, especially regarding composition. I browsed through the worksho...

Photography workshops?

I'll be in Concord, VT from 10/3 - 10/10 and I'm kicking around the idea of taking a photo workshop. I've found a few on the web (the one at the link below looks good) but I'm wondering if anybody here has any experiences or recommendations?
