Since foliage season has been over for a while, it is time to get going again with some "off-season" shots :D Greenbank Hollow - Danville https://c3.staticflickr.com/6/5638/30830817586_4901ae6590_c.jpg Greenbank Hollow3 by Tim_NEK , on Flickr Super Moon and Burke Mtn - Lyndon https://c7.staticflickr...
Thanks Kerry. The light that morning was unreal. The sun came up over the mountain ridge to the east and the leaf color exploded against the snow. Update: Testing out a new lens that arrived this morning. I found a nice little grove of Poplar, Beech, and Oak. https://c7.staticflickr.com/6/5616/29973...
Kerry, your blog has a perfect explanation to my approach. Thank you for putting that into words. Here is an example from last year of a wide angle vs a telephoto shot of the same location. I've long stated my belief that telephoto lenses are badly underused in scenic photography. I really like what you did here, Tim. Kudos. Thanks Kerry. I use my 70-200 A LOT in my landscape photography. I like how it can compress distances between objects. Additionally I like to isolate smaller port...
Thanks everyone :) Carol, you are correct that is Franconia Ridge (peaks of Lafayette and Lincoln). I had first captured the classic view of the barn, church, cows and mountains view. But the Presidential Range (Mt Washington) was still mostly obscured by clouds. https://c3.staticflickr.com/6/5511/3...
Yesterday evening (Sunday 23rd), Peacham. https://c3.staticflickr.com/6/5705/30245666570_fabfa0a447_c.jpg Peacham and Mountain Snow by Tim_NEK , on Flickr The strong winds today have stripped most leaves that were still on (save for some sparse oaks, cottonwoods, and poplar). The next few days we ha...
It is still going out there. Most places are well past peak. However, if you know where to look... The movie is very well put together and well shot. I love the wind blown trees from above. I also really like that you didn't way over-saturate the foliage like I've seen in some other drone captured movies that have been floating around Facebook. This year didn't need any help in the saturation dep...
Nicely done. I love the shots with the valley fog. This foliage season has been a great one in so many ways. From the great color to the longevity. I haven't heard of anyone disappointed in this season.
The foliage is most definitely past peak here in the northern NEK. Points south of St Johnsbury should still have some good color (e.g. Peacham) but I haven't been there so I don't have first hand knowledge. However, even if you still plan on driving around here, all is not lost! There are pockets o...
