Thanks pwt. We're going back to Texas Falls again because it was so beautiful. It is after we do Robert Frost Road and his summer cottage and stopping at Breadloaf. (Repeat performance because my guests on the 2nd trip haven't been and I don't want them to miss a thing!) The foot paths around the Te...

Andy: THANK YOU! Phew! I now know I probably want to take the toll road and walk up to the "ridge", not hike the "summit". My friend would not like the toll road drive so I'll send her off with the group on the gondola. She's driving her new car again this season and she gets visibly nervous on chal...

Andy: thank you so much for responding. I think I am confused about the peak of Mt. Mansfield vs. where the toll road stops vs. where the gondola lets you out. I don't think I want to climb the peak! I thought that when the gondola lets me out, I would hike to where the toll road stops, where pwt wo...

abby: thanks for the clarification on Wheeler Mountain. I hope your daughter doesn't get lost! I'm very sorry to hear your husband is in the hospital. I'm sure he'll be on the mend soon and back home! You better take care of yourself and everyone else so that you can still pursue your 3 Vermont trip...

Maybe we can drive Lewis Pond next year for the reunion. There's nothing I want more than to see this place in person after reading and seeing so many accounts and photos of this dramatic scenery! I have four pints of blackberries in my frig for cereal but they were store bought! PWT: What did you d...

Hi pwt: Guess we'll wait and see who is interested in finishing the hike up after the gondola ride. But thank you for offering rides back! That is very nice of you! If the weather is ok, then this looks like a good plan. Otherwise we'll be back to "plan B" for the caravan backroads tour? (Just reali...

The Shed sounds fine to me! What do others think? Moderately priced sounds better! Would this be for lunch time because we have a huge breakfast at our B&B. Some scenarios: do the gondola and/or back road caravan alternative in the a.m. and then have lunch - or - meet for lunch first and then do th...

Jay Peak Tram and Stowe Gondola Skyride

Everyone: I am getting some trip activities together and here is the info I found online with details including prices, etc. Anyone ever been on these two or others? Looks like a lot of fun! We have plans for both so I am looking forward to the experience! Jay Peak Tram "Weather permitting, The Jay ...

ixl: if I may, I would like to suggest some towns and routes in the NW corner of Connecticut where I took two guests last year on a foliage tour. The area is unspoiled, forested and exquisite, and you would think you were in VT (except it is not quite that mountainous). (Litchfield Hills area). The ...

hi pwt: well this is a good start! At least we know where we are meeting! :D Stowe: watch out! "The Foliage Geek Fest" is gaining momentum! (to coin a phrase from Abby's original description!)   Can't wait to meet everyone! Now pwt, you'll have to start conjuring up some "eye popping...

Ditto on Abby! bm: Stowe is actually where we are staying for the weekend so it would be great for us as well and we want you to be there! Do you think you would be able to attend if we choose Stowe? pwt mentioned meeting somewhere away from the town congestion on Mountain Road (?) when we were firs...

ixl: you are right on the Connecticut PR. That's why I said "only time will tell!" It's the first time though, I recall seeing the CT DEP put out the site in August. Usually they wait until mid-September!

Your picture is outstanding. Thanks again!

GIC : that is great news! I hope more forum members come to the reunion. It will be a blast! Today is a day made in heaven! Crisp, brilliant blue, cloudless skies, cool temperatures, blazing sunshine and a soft breeze. I put my first fallen red leaf on my door and I have a smile frozen on my face i...

Hi ixl! Glad to see you back on the forum. I've enjoyed your pictures immensely! We are still seeing trees changing early here in CT and it's got a lot of folks talking about an early fall. Only time will tell! It is supposed to be very cool here this week and I'm sure more trees will continue to ch...
