There is some color in Wilmington already, it should be nice by the time you arrive. For home cooking, low key, is "Dot's" in town on 9west.Near intersection of Rt. 9 / 100. Great for breakfast/lunch....written up in Vermont Magazine. Be prepared to wait on weekends. They close for dinner at 9pm on ...

I too, think color will be early this yr, just based on what I see now.
I like Bennington, although I like Wilmington also.
Mid Oct sounds about right for peak. Keep checking in for updates, I would suggest.

I agree with pwt choices. In Manchester there are only a few eateries, all about the same, however I would not recommend the Equinox, except for a lunch, I have seen children there, as a mom of 4, I would not put it on my list.

I agree, Stowe is a must,drive through the notch, The Green Mountain Inn, or for the $$$$ TopNotch to stay. Go to Gracies to mangare. From the southern part of Vermont, Deerfielf Valley Area, we see some trees of color..already ! I could not believe it.
