Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2021
Kevin, I'm doing a prerun to northern CT and NW CT Friday. I'll start out on Lost Acres Road in Granby and hook on to 20 there. I really want to see how it is in Salisbury and Norfolk on the 44 run. The NH forum guys are probably coming next week. There is still alot of green in the valley and it's ...

Re: Need info on Owl’s Head Trail
Hi Gopal, welcome to the forum! I've only done the longer ascent up to the overlook 3 times. I know there is a shorter hike. Here is a map and great info!

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2021
I just saw that it is going to be 77 here Thursday and 80 on Friday so that may extend the season. Maybe I'll go to the beach then.

Hi Minnie, the information you gave me on route 7 is valuable. We may delay Manchester and north until next weekend. We are going to Woodstock in two weeks, mainly to hike Mt. Tom, so crowds may not be an issue. I've been to the Rutland craft fair a few years ago. It was really small but had nice cr...

Re: Mount Snow
Hi Minnie, make sure the summit is clear at Mt. Snow for the long views you want to experience. But do check it out. I think you will be rewarded for making the trip there! The ride up is great and so are the hikes up there in the back. Did you ever go on Stratton's lift ride? You can hike a trail t...

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2021
Hi Kevin, seeing that we are in for 70s next week, there probably won't be much change. But cool nights and sunshiny days are forecasted. I think the leaves that are falling or brownish are a natural shedding for the trees. We got a lot of rain around Connecticut this past summer. It should be bette...

Hey, these are great photos. Nice reds. Thanks for posting your trip report here. I saw that the cookoff was today from the Rotary Club. Hope you had great success because I'm sure it was very busy!

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2021
Hi Bob, thanks for the update. I'm planning my tour for the NH boys from this forum and am taking into account all your advice from a previous post. I want to take them on Judd's Bridge Road and Battleswamp Road in Roxbury off 199. It's still so green yet but I am touring up the NW hilltowns the end...

Re: Hogback Mountain
Molly Stark State Park is excellent. A SOV forum member from N. Benn took me there and we hiked to the fire tower. The 360 views were just amazing and the tower was reallllly high up and a bit shaky. The glass surrounds were clear enough to take photos. It was a moderate hike with some challenging r...

Re: Mount Snow
I agree. The slopes all around offer the best views of Somerset. We also hiked some trails in the back a couple of years ago, but the views are certainly worth the cost of the Blue Bird Express for sure. Glad you got to go up there!

Newfane Heritage Festival, route 30, route 11 color update – Saturday, 10/9/21
Another great Vermont fall foliage festival today in beautiful Newfane! We got to the village in record time, just over 2 hours, and I am sooooo glad we got there when it started. People must have had pent up foliage festival fever due to the festivals being all canceled last year! Lots of nice craf...

Re: Mount Snow
Minnie: I've been to Mt. Snow several times and taking the Blue Bird Express to the summit is the best. The views of Somerset Reservoir at the top are outstanding. I think the chair lift ride ends on Monday the 11th. We may head up that way Monday.... falldrivingis fun: that's a great shot of the co...

Nice shots Tim! Yesterday was a perfect day for reflections and the weather was sublime! Funny how many Prospect Rocks there are. I'm pretty sure we are hiking Prospect Rock in Manchester tomorrow!

Re: Two of My Favorite VT Foliage Festivals on Tap For This Autumn!
Hi Joe! Glad your trip was so nice! I agree, Autumn on the Green is so well organized and the local vibe can't be beat. I loved the craft and food vendors and the music at the bandstand. Next year is your year for lift rides, maybe do a couple? Peacham has always been a favorite of mine and next yea...
