Re: Foliage - Hartford to Ottawa

I haven't been in Central New York State for Fall foliage, but the Hudson and Mohawk Valley areas probably offer good foliage. Perhaps the Finger Lakes also.

Re: Foliage - Hartford to Ottawa

October 10th is too late for the NEK and the higher elevations of Vermont. The foliage this year is early by about 7-10 days. During the last two foliage seasons the Fall color in Massachusetts has been really poor due to fungus/rust. It's too early to tell what will happen this year. My recommendat...

Re: Frost Advisory Tonight up in the NEK! Watch more colors pop!

With 5 days of rain showers in the forecast for later in the week, I might go up to Killington tomorrow. Looks like peak foliage around that area at higher elevations.

Re: Peak Color!

I'm planning on doing my annual trip to Killington on 10/4. With how early peak foliage is this year, it might be my last foliage trip into Vermont this year. Route 30 from the junction with route 121 was mostly green into Brattleboro, so late October may be okay. What a great day today was though, ...

Jiminy Peak also has an adventure Park located not far from Route 7.

Southern VT Searsburg - Londonderry 9-27-19 Near peak color

My son and I took a day trip up to Southern Vermont today and I was honestly just expecting 25-50% foliage change. The foliage is about 7-10 days early and definitely more advanced than at this point last year. Last year this area had a lackluster quality, totally different this year. The CRV is mos...

Re: Peak Color!

Peak color today around Mt Snow, Searsburg Reservoir, Stratton and Magic . The foliage is about a week early. I've never seen peak foliage in late September before in Southern Vermont.

Amazing foliage color around Searsburg Reservoir and Mount Snow. Most foliage color I've ever seen in late September.

Re: Color is Coming Fast

I've been sick in bed with a bad cold since Monday. But I'm feeling better now and on my way to Mt Snow and SR71/ Kelly Stand. The last time I was purposely in Vermont in September for foliage was in 1995.

Re: Where Are The 30's Temperatures??

It's 35.2 F here in Enfield but no frost thankfully. Still have another month hopefully with the garden. It's below freezing around the quabbin area, but not in Connecticut. This early season cold should bring out the foliage color. Hard to believe it's going to be in the 80's this weekend. Hopefull...

Re: Where Are The 30's Temperatures??

Temperatures are currently in the Upper 30's around Killington with frost advisories and freeze warnings for much of New England. The NWS mentions the possibility of frost here in N. Connecticut tonight. Hopefully not as it's about 3 weeks too early. I find weatherunderground to be a good place to v...

Re: Where Are The 30's Temperatures??

Actually, Northern Maine dropped below freezing already. I know from some weather chat friend's that it did in Northern New Hampshire as well.

Near record cold in Maine on 9/13/19:
