Re: Killington this weekend

One more question. I found these directions suggested by dfpvt. 87 north to Route 29 at Saratoga Springs (exit 15, follow signs to 29 East). East (right) on 29 to Route 22 north. North (left) on 22 to Salem, NY. East on 153 at Salem to E.Rupert, VT. North(left) on Route 30 at E.Rupert. Right on Rout...

Re: A few of Vermont's highlights

I don't know how I missed this. Thanks so much for the suggestions. We are definitely making reservations at Simon Pearce (in addition to having reservations at Hemmingways). I will report back next week. :)

Re: Killington this weekend

Oh, I also wanted to ask about these drives. PWT, you suggested these to me a long time ago. Are they still good drives to do? Can anyone suggest any other drives we should take? Thanks! US 4 west to route 149 WEST at the traffic light in Fort ANN. Take route 149 west to the end and turn right onto ...

Killington this weekend

I am not sure what to make out of the foliage for this coming weekend (10/13). My husband and I will be driving from NY to Killington. Will most of the leaves be gone? Also, just wondering if anyone can suggest some fun things to do. We're definitely eating dinner at Hemmingway's and will visit Quec...

Re: Stowe area October 11-15

We were in Stowe in early August. We're going back to Killington this year for foliage. You're going to have some amazing pictures from your trip. Stowe was great and has some really nice places to photograph. :)

I couldn't agree more, autumleaf! I hope the leaves can withstand the wind and rain.

Re: Stowe area October 11-15

For a great breakfast that isn't expensive, try McCarthy's on Mountain Road. I ate there in August and absolutely loved my breakfast. We also ate at Partridge Inn, which is a seafood restaurant. The food was really good and it was pretty reasonable. :) Hope this helps!

Re: NYC to Rutland

We've driven Rt. 9 to Rt. 7 to 100. It was a nice ride and we got to see some really nice foliage. There's a really senic area stop with a lake along the way. We were able to take some really great pictures there.

Re: When to come? 9/30 or 10/14

I agree. We're visiting the weekend of 10/13-10/15 and are staying in the Killington area. We've been there around this time before and have seen great color. If you're going to visit mid October, definitely try to visit midstate.

Re: southern VT: when? where?

I was in Bennington 2 years ago and enjoyed it. I think it's a nice area to see foliage in, since color seems to be peaking early this year.
