Hinton Hill Road

Hi PWT and Abby: I'm sure it is Hilton Hill Road. We were meandering around different roads after visiting Island Pond area and we came across Hilton Hill Road and decided to go for it. The views approaching Lake Willoughby were beyond belief! I think it was unpaved a good deal of the way and then p...

Gaps and Notches - Thanks Andy!

Andy: I'll try Hazen's Notch, Middlebury and Brandon Gaps. That should keep me busy for awhile!

I'll save Kelly Stand and Appalachian Gap for next year!

If anyone does some Gaps and Notches before my mid-October trip I'd be happy to hear about your adventures!

Notches and Gaps???

Can anyone tell me if all the gaps and notches are mini-van user friendly?

If you can include Kelly Stand Road, Big Branch (Forest Service Road #10) and Hazens Notch, that would be helpful.

I did the Lincoln Gap a couple of years ago and my van had some moments! :?

Rochester area around October 12, 13 and 14?

Hi PWT: I am staying at Liberty Hill Farm for the weekend in Rochester on 10/12 and 10/13. Do you think the peak may have passed in that area then or will we be somewhat on target? We want to go to Middlebury to the Morgan Horse Farm. Any suggestions of nice routes around the Rochester area? We leav...

Early foliage change phenomena?

PWT! Well glad to know I am not going crazy noticing the change of leaves as early as the second week of August here in Connecticut! Now many people are coming up to me and telling me trees are changing in many areas in northern CT. And this includes maples! What does all this mean as far as our "no...

Vermont Church Suppers a must!

One of the highlights of my many trips to Vermont was to attend various church suppers throughout the state. The food is wonderful, abundant, and locally produced. The price is affordable and most of all - the people who go to these suppers and who host them - are incredibly friendly and very proud ...

Fall is definately coming to CT!

There are many trees changing in West Hartford where I live. These are not stressed or diseased trees or ones close to the road. We have had many cool nights and last night was one of them. A lot of the trees are beginning to mute in color as well. When I awoke this a.m. with all the windows open, I...
