Re: Anyone Know Where This Is?
I remember several years ago while on the road coming to a rest stop and while we were parked we had a nice view over some hills/mountains and I'm pretty sure the Long Trail cut through there and you could get onto the trail from that rest stop parking lot. I have no recollection what highway we we...

Re: Standard Mountain September 22nd
Thursday was cloudy and rainy with muted colors so decided to look for the best early foliage color on Standard Mountain. If you really want to see good color in the NEK early in the season, then Standard Mountain between Hardwick and Lyndonville is the place to go. You mean like Stannard mountain ...

Re: Directions to another view of Mt. Mansfield
Gopal, unless you can find out where this little pond is for a landmark, your guess is as good as any. On your last request, at least there were farm landmarks but this could be taken from anywhere. Thoughts? You are right, CT. These views could be on the way to and from Stowe Pinnacle. Upper Hollow...

Re: Need directions for this view of Mt. Mansfield
You will need to be on Bryce Road for this shot. Just an update............... Moose Valley Drive is too short and flat with little elevation gain to get this view. CT CT to the rescue! Thank you so much, CT for the update. Since you are familiar with the area you are definitely more accurate based...

Directions to another view of Mt. Mansfield
Hi everyone, I came across few more pictures of some gorgeous views of Mt.Mansfield. It looks like these are taken from a road which runs kind of parallel to the Mt. Mansfield. After studying the maps I figured that these might have been taken from Mountain road. Can someone please confirm if it’s c...

Re: Need directions for this view of Mt. Mansfield
Gopal, after much reflection, I stand corrected. This is on Upper Pleasant Valley Road but the road used to take this shot escapes me. I'll try to remember! No worries, CT. It was confusing for me too to locate this view on the map. I ended up asking the photographer of this picture, Alan L ...

Re: Need directions for this view of Mt. Mansfield
Gopal, I want to throw in my thoughts. This view of Lower Pleasant Valley Road could be from Cady Hill Road. I will wait till others chime in as they come on to the forum. CT Thank you so much CT for your quick response. I know I can always count on experts on this forum for all information related...

Re: Beginner level DSLR
Sorry, I didn't see this until today. I may be too late :-). Assuming you haven't already bought a camera, here are some thoughts: Canon vs. Nikon . My neighbor drives a black Toyota Camry. I drive a white Honda Accord. I like my Honda. He likes his Toyota. In reality, other than some stylistic thi...

Re: Best bets for peak fall foliage after Saturday’s rain.
hi Gopal, there are two lakes/ponds you might want to check out if you are coming up route 7 or 7A Sunday per my previous post. A friend of mine from the forum who lived in North Bennington often suggested Lake Shaftsbury for color but I never got there. I also would say that Equinox Pond in the Eq...

Re: Best bets for peak fall foliage after Saturday’s rain.
Hi Gopal, if I were coming from Boston, take the pike west to scenic route NY22 north. It is really lovely with farms and pastures. It will circumvent Pittsfield (lots of traffic congestion). Get off at exit for Hancock on route 43 east and go past Jiminy Peak on Brodie Mountain Road to route 7 nor...
