What time to photograph snow geese?
What time of day is the best time to photograph the snow geese? Am, noon or afternoon, so that the sun isn't right in our face. We are going up in the morning, but it's a 3 hr drive up there from here. We plan on staying overnight. Any foliage left, if so so what do you suggest? Thanks Shirley

Maps for future trips
Hi, thanks for all the great info on scenic back roads in VT. I've spent hours locating these spots and marking them on my Streets & Trips map program. Then printing them out, so they will be available when we hit the road again. We are planning on going up to Addison to see the snow geese, when som...

Re: Peacham Area Foliage
We just got home from a trip up NEK rt 114 color was nice not great, over Westmore road to Willoughby, color fair. Then King George Farm, I think this needs different light than we had today. In the morning the sun was out with a white sky, then it got dark after lunch, looked like rain, but it move...

Thank you. I don't think we've been there before, we are going up to NEK tomorrow and will check it out. Going to go to Groton SP also after that great report from moderator.

Re: Snow Geese
Yes, I'd love some suggestions. My husband loves dirt back roads, I love them because you can stop and photograph scenery without all that traffic.

Waits River, Topsom, Vt color?
How's the color near Waits River, Topsom, VT rt 25? There is a wonderful scene with a church, we've photographed that a couple of years, then it seems for years now we are too early or too late because of winds & rain.

Re: What's the best Atlas?
DeLorme Atlas & Gazetteer is pretty good, except every thing you are searching for seems to be part on 1 page then go to another. It's a good place to start. Years ago when we were up in Peacham / Barnet I stopped at a general store and got a couple of local topo maps, but then most of the back dirt...

Re: Peacham - Barnet?
I don't go to Willoughby to see the lake. There are so many beautiful scenic views of farms etc with foliage in that area, that's why I go up there this time of year.

Willoughby Lake view
Another really nice view is near the top of the lake, on rte 5 is a road called Hinton Ridge Rd, drive up to the top, nice view of the lake and sometimes the trees up there are beautiful. Haven't been up there this year yet. This road continues on to 105 then Island Pond. Rt 114 from there is beauti...

Re: Foliage in NEK, Willoughby Lake area.
Sorry that should of been West Burke, on Rt. 5, and it shows on MS Streets & Trips now.
It's called King George Farm or school.
