Re: Where to go to see peak foliage the weekend of 10/12

I was on I-89 between Richmond and Montpelier today and the colors are coming along nice on the hillsides through Bolton, Waterbury, Middlesex. Looks like they are still a few days from peak so I would think they will look great this weekend. Steady rain all day, but it wasn't really hard, and there...

Re: SAT 10-5 Foliage Report

I was in Tunbridge on 10/5 and all along Route 110 from Washington to Tunbridge was all rust looking as well. Very disappointing and I don't think it will look any better bfore all the leaves are gone. However, This morning we took the dogs up to Victory Basin and it is really quite beautiful up the...

NEK 10/2

Had to get my car serviced this morning so took a detour on the way home. Hard rain and a lot of wind last night. There was some flooding and closed roads in places this morning. Notice some leaf drop on some of the ridges, but not as bad as I had expected. Crappy sky today for photos, but I general...

Re: Victory / East Burke 9/28

I have not been up the Radar Road, so can't comment on that. I think the color should be OK Thurs/Friday in Victory. Some of the reds may be past, but it seems like the yellows are just getting started. Looks like a lot of rain forecast for next Tues/Weds, so hopefully that doesn't knock a lot of le...

Victory / East Burke 9/28

Today was the opening of Grouse Season in Vermont, so took the dogs out to one of our favorite spots in Victory. The first image was taken on Victory Road which is off of Route 114 just a bit north of East Burke (they were having their Fall festival today). As a bonus, A little further up the road f...

Groton / Kettle Pond 9/27

Made a quick stop at Kettle Pond today and took a couple quick shots. One from the boat launch, and one of the trees from the parking lot. I was there around 10 AM and the light was harsh. I used a polarizer to try and cut the glare down a bit, but the color still looks a bit washed out in these pic...

Re: Color is Coming Fast

I have to head up route 302 through Groton tomorrow. If I have time, I will shoot up through the state forest and see how it looks around Kettle Pond. I was checking some of my photos from there from 2017 and I was there on 10/8. It was a tad past peak, but still beautiful, so I would think the 5th/...

Re: Color is Coming Fast

I think Groton will be nice this weekend. I have found in the past it usually peaks around the 6th, but things do seem a few days earlier this year. And Yes, I do horseback ride. I've had horses most of my life. Sadly we lost our last horse in the Fall of 2018. He was 27 and had some serious leg iss...

Color is Coming Fast

I happen to be on Route 2 between Marshfield and St Johnsbury yesterday, and on 302 through Groton this morning and the color is really coming on strong. I took a few pics this afternoon in East Haven and then stopped by Jobs Pond. Took a few quick pics. Light was not very good at Jobs Pond, but sho...

Re: Where To Go For the Best Vermont Brewery

Hill Farmstead, without a doubt, brews some of the best beers I have ever tasted. It can get crazy busy there. I have been there at times when you will wait an hour, or longer for a beer. If you want to get a growler filled, they have a number system which works well, but again, be prepared to WAIT....

Some Color in Richmond & Bolton Today 10/14

Dark and Rainy day, and VERY WINDY. Unfortunately it was also raining leaves! I managed to get a few shots, although it was hard to get crisp shots with so much wind, and so little light. Still some very nice color in the Richmond, Bolton and Waterbury area. I was going to go to Waitsfield, but the ...

Re: "Seasons Come and Seasons Go"

I hope to get out and get some more photos this weekend. Every day this week on my commute to work I have noticed GREAT color. I was just amazed and Bolton and Richmond yesterday. Everything just seems to be popping out at once. It's honestly some of the best color I have seen in those areas in year...
