Manchester Area activities

Manchester, Vermont is steeped in history going as far back as the American Revolution. Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Boys frequented the area as well and the Lincoln family and Calvin Coolidge who incidentally was born not 40 minutes away. Both family homes can be visited when you are in the area. Manchester as well as neighboring Dorset and Arlington have been vacation spots since well before the 1900's and continues that reputation today. Although Manchester's permanent population is only over some 4000 people it attracts visitors and second home owners year round. Sitting in the midst of the Green Mountains as well as the Appalachian Trail its beauty is truly magnificent.
