9th Annual Chili Fest
North Bennington will be celebrating their 11th Annual Winter Festival on Saturday, January 27th. A special feature of the Winter Festival is the NorShaft Lions Annual Chili Fest — our 9th year! Taste over 25 different chilies from the traditional beef (hot, medium and mild) to chicken, sausage, venison, vegetarian, white, corn, chocolate dessert chili, etc. The Chili Fest takes place at St. John the Baptist Church Community Hall from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm.
The North Bennington Winter Festival starts with the pre-Plunge breakfast at Lake Paran starting at 9 am, followed by hearty souls plunging into the freezing waters of Lake Paran at 11 am. Festivities continue with lots of activities throughout the Village. In addition to the Chili Fest with over 25 Chilies to sample, there will be the Indoor Winter Carnival for Children at the Village School of North Bennington, the Spirits of Old Bennington Tastings at Powers Market, Storytime and children’s activities at the Library, Snowman building (with or without snow) at the Park McCullough mansion, solar power displays and electric car races at the Left Bank, the Girl Scout’s bake sale, and Beer, Bourbon and BBQ at Kevin’s.
