Are the Pristine Conditions Over?
By: greytail | In: Snowmobiling Weather Outlook
What some ski area marketing departments call " Funk" is now with us for a few days. That word refers to rain, freezing rain, and sleet. It is going to be with us for Tuesday and Wednesday. In addition, the warmer temperatures will cause a fast snow melt. As I remarked a few weeks ago, Vermont was in its "best conditions" scenario. That scenario has now ended and we may see a slow deterioration of the trails over the next week or so. If we get some more snow, that could change the situation. So while you will still be able to snowmobile, the pristine conditions are gone for the time being.
