A weekend in March
I spent a little time last weekend along Lake Superior in Northeast Minnesota. Here's what I found.
Split Rock Lighthouse
When strong winds on Lake Superior drive ice flows ashore, they break up into boulder size glacieral blue chunks and pile up ten feet high. This is really an amazing sight.
While Lake Superior doesn't freeze over, the water in the bays, harbors and shorelines do. When ice flows hit, you get this.

Hi Al: I also cannot see them. Not sure what is wrong. I'll check back in a couple of days..............

Hi Al: Thats one of the places I was thinking we might try to visit when you and I finally figure out a way to get together for a shoot! I think that's a pretty incredible lighthouse.
I can GUARANTEE you, however, that I won't be visiting it in those conditions <G>

If it sounds too good to be true, its probably . . . .

You know, Andy, given the commitments we have during the summer and your planned trip to Maine in the fall, you may have settle for a wintertime visit! Early winter is best before our fast flowing streams and waterfalls freeze over. Yes, it gets so cold up here in Minnesota that even the waterfalls freeze.
