To Anyone Already in NEK 10/1 - Current Conditions?

I plan to begin my 6 trip tomorrow 10/2/17 by leaving my home in Massachusetts at 4:00 am and hoping to get in some nice pond/fog/reflection photography at and after sunrise (I'm crazy, In know).

Based on current foliage conditions am I better off heading for :

1) May / Bean / Jobs / Newark Pond Area, or

2) Noyes / Kettle Pond, Owls Head area.

Noyes Pond is slightly shorter drive but I'm wondering if further north around Barton / Westmore will the color be more advanced? Looking for the area that has more color currently.

Thanks in advance for any help from anyone already in the NEK

I was at Noyes Pond on Friday. The color was not great, a combination of green, yellows, a few brick reds, and sticks. Often by this time there is red on the right hand side as you look across the pond from the boat area. At present it looked to be green and gray, some yellow, and only a little bit of brick red. I can't tell whether it is going to color up, or if those trees are just missing a lot of leaves. I did not go up Owl's Head. I did stop briefly at Ricker Pond, which was mostly green, some yellow. Again, it is difficult to tell if it is early, or is just not going to color up that much.

Is there anyone who can address the current appearance of Shadow Pond (Concord)?

Thanks for the report minnesotaman. Things may be a little better since Friday with the past couple of cold nights, but that still sounds early. This may be a challenging year given the last September heat messing things up.
