places to see

hello every one,
I will be visiting Vermont the 11-14 looking for some places near Woodstock. Any suggetsions. Been looking at Route 100.

I was thinking of some back roads with awesome colors. I hear it has been an early season. I would like to some lakes/ponds with foilage. Any thing people could suggest would be great. Thank you in advance.

I hesitate to send folks on back roads. Hate to get them lost. The main roads including routes 100,110,14, and 12 between route US 4 and route US 2 should be good. I fyou do route 110 look for the Whitney Hill Road on the west side of route 110 about 1 mile about Tunbridge Village. There is a beautiful round barn on that road. Finish the Whitney Road to the Dickerman Road and turn right to get back to route 110. Got back a few pages and look for my "route 14 and eastcentral vermont" post and my "challenging roads" post for some more ideas.

Has Woodstock come along that much in the last few days?

I posted earlier this week and the consensus seemed to be that Woodstock wouldn't be that great this weekend. I was hoping to go up there on Sunday/Monday with a friend if it is okay... --c

Woodstock probably won't be peak right now but the roads I've mentioned will be early to start but will pick up quickly. I did forget to mention the floating bridge on route 65 in Brookfield. You can reach it from either route 12 or 14.

How will the (in)famous Jenne Farm be, any idea? I should check my topo map. It's a cliche but I have seen so much of the state now that I want a shot of it. --c

Jumping Jeezum, Charles. I'm working right now. I ain't got no time to go galivanting around.
When i was there last spring there were 6 cars parked there and I was the only Vermonter there.One car was from California. I plan to be wandering down in that area this weekend seeing how the snow geese aren't at Dead Creek yet. By the way, a while ago I said that the Jenne Road was 2.3 miles south of South Woodstock. After checking my atlas and notes I think it's 3.2 mile south of South Woodstock.
