Hello all you foliage fanatics! Oh how I love September! I was thinking of writing a poem but alas, it's too early in the morning!

I can blissfully decorate my house now that the neighbors have come to grips with the fact that summer is winding down. :D

So, how do I love September? Here are some of the things I can look forward to: can you add your own?

Pumpkin patches, cool nights and warm, sparkling crisp days, geese flying over head in their V formations, hayrides into the fields, fall craft fairs and festivals, the sultry aroma of leaves turning, gourds and mums on my doorstep, sweatshirt weather, autumn trail rides, fall farmers markets and farm stands, scarecrows sprouting up along the roadside, towering haystacks and scrambling corn mazes, apple orchards and hot cider with cinnamon sticks, cider donuts and apple fritters, Indian corn displays, wood stoves' aroma into the night, open windows to ease me to sleep, the first hard frost....

Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns. ~George Eliot

Absolutely agree. Your list is too good, I cannot come up with any additions!

Well except for the release of the Magic Hat Autumn Seasonal Sampler Pack!

How can I forget this one! The full harvest moon! :D

OMG this is one of the most romantic songs ever!

Harvest Moon

Neil Young

Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin'
We could dream this night away.

But there's a full moon risin'
Let's go dancin' in the light
We know where the music's playin'
Let's go out and feel the night.

Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.

But now it's gettin' late
And the moon is climbin' high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin' in your eye.

Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

May I add brisk morning walks kicking and crunching the leaves under my feet, deep blue skies and golden afternoons with long shadows, the smell of the first fresh apple pie of the season from the oven and yes even raking the leaves into piles and listening to the grandkids giggle as the play in them! :)

Hi Janice! Here's one everyone can relate to who loves Vermont!

That exhilarating feeling you get when you cross the border into Vermont for your foliage vacation! And the smile that never seems to go away! :D
