Can someone pinpoint this on a map for me? I found New Discovery Rd and see it's a "mile south" of it, but on what road?

It's off route 232. There is a gate that's locked early. I believe it's opened by 9am.

Take a left onto the marked access road if you're heading south, or right if heading north. You can drive almost to the top, where there's parking, then walk up a short steep trail to get to the top. Great views in several directions including Osmore Pond.

When I was at owls head two years ago there were some trees that were blocking the view (small saplings but enough to kill a nice wide angle). Are those still there?

Thx,

Howard

Abby - how do you get your sky and foreground properly exposed? Are you exposure bracketing and putting them together? Burning in PS? Using the graduated filer option in LR? Or do you use a graduated filter? Or magic? ;)

At what point on 232? Looks like 232 is a big stretch.

Great shot Abby. Owl's Head looks so much better than when I shot it last year - it was just...brown...then. Tempting me to head back up but don't know if the color will stay by the time I get up there...

Wow! I'm so jealous, when we were there two years ago, peak had just passed and it was cloudy, rainy.

The Owl's Head Overlook is on an access road off 232, a quarter mile south of Boulder Beach Road.

It was cloudy and rainy today here too when she took this. It's been cloudy/raining the entire time we've been here and looks like it is only going to change when we are leaving. *sigh*
