Hi MMVT: Due to cloudiness in my area we were unable to view the Super Moon. I was truly disappointed! I've been waiting to see this event for quite awhile and Mother Nature just didn't cooperate!

A little birdie told me that someone in your neck of the woods got an amazing shot of the Super Moon and was hoping that that person could post it here on the photog forum! :P

Will have to wait another year but the full Harvest Moon remains my favorite! Wonder why!

I didn't exactly shoot the moon on Saturday night, but I was in Yosemite National Park and I photographed a moonbow. The light from the moon, passing through the mist of lower Yosemite Falls created this remarkable scene. The moonbow is difficult to see with the human eye, it only appears as a grey arch by the waterfall. With a 10 second exposure, the camera will capture the colors. Furthermore, such a long exposure makes the photo appear as though it was shot during the day.

I hope all of you will enjoy this photo as much as I do.

Al: I never heard of a moonbow before! What a shot! Hard to believe this was taken at night. It is really beautiful!

mmvt: Thanks for posting the Supermoon photos! They are also great. The second one reminds me of Halloween - very eerie! There is a leaf or something in the middle that looks like a witch riding her broomstick!!! 8)

Lucky for you that the evening was clear.

Anyone else have any Supermoon photos from last weekend?
