Just returned from 10 great days in New England and wanted to say thank you to everyone that has offered advise and ideas through this board - especially pwt54. Without all of this information we wouldn't have known about a lot of the things we enjoyed.

We flew into Burlington Oct. 4th and stayed in Stowe for 2 nights. We spent a lot of time driving backroads in the Northern Kingdom. On the gondola ride up Jay Peak on the 5th they were nearly peak foliage there. Enjoyed Cold Hollow Cider (best cider I ever drank and the warm donuts are great too), Jennifer's up at Island Pond was a nice place for a big country-style lunch. While it wasn't peak everywhere we went, we certainly enjoyed some beautiful trees.

Spent a day in NH, stayed at Thayer's Hotel in Littleton and drove the Kanc highway. Wow are there some neat waterfalls along that route. Flume Gorge is just fantastic. Don't miss the Littleton Diner. Had whole wheat pancakes made with flour from the Grist Mill there - strawberries and whipped cream on top and a little Vermont maple syrup. To die for!!!!

The rain spoiled some of our plans while we were staying in Brandon, but overall we had a great trip and definitely want to return another year. The best part was just taking our time and driving the country roads to enjoy God's great beauty and see how the New England people live.

Thanks again for all your help. I wish every state had a message board as good as this one.

We hope you do come back. There is a very good chance the next foliage will beat this one.
