First timer to Vermont

I am a first timer to Vermont. I plan on taking the south central drive the first weekend of October. I plan to drive into Vermont from NY. <BR>Is it very crowded during that time? <BR>Is Woodstruck still the best place to stay? Any alternatives? Please advice.<P> <P><BR>
